Dan Gutman Books
My name is Dan Gutman, an American children's author. I was born in New York City on October 19, 1955, and grew up in New Jersey. I graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in psychology in 1977, but left graduate school to pursue writing. I worked as an editor for a video game magazine before dedicating myself to authorship. I have written over 190 books, most notably the My Weird School series, which has sold over 35 million copies, as well as *Baseball Card Adventures* and *The Genius Files*. I began my career as a writer for Sesame Street from 1994 to 2002 and won six Emmy Awards. My books have also received three Caldecotte honors. I live in New York City with my wife, Nina. I enjoy cycling and pickleball, and I visit schools to encourage children who don't like to read.
